Growing up it was expected that we would spend most of our summer vacation camping. I loved it. Going to Redfish Lake was a favorite spot for me. Unfortunately, Dave and I have never taken our kids camping until this last summer. I regret to say that it was to the ward campout, and wasn't even in the mountains, back country. It was a horrible weekend for a campout, but we endured well, and made up for the lack of sleep by taking a huge nap the next afternoon! The winds were high, a train track ran right next to the campsite and "tooted" it's horn ALL night long and we woke up to a crazy rain storm. Thank heavens for the heated hot tubs!

Was your camp out at Crystal Hot springs? Sounds like a family reunion we had there a few years back....I must have slept like a rock (before I had a kid!) because when we woke up in the morning everyone was talking about a train and I never heard it!
Laura, I guess once you've been there, you have the same experience everyone else does...the Train! I wish I could have slept like you did...I had this little 1 1/2 year old that kept waking up with BUG eyes, everytime the blasted thing whistled! She finally ended up sleeping with me, which made it worse. We were just so glad and desperate to spend time as a family, that we kind of got over the night issues pretty quick! We did have a good time though! He He!
